28 January, 10 Esso fuel card holders may welcome news that its parent company is set to surpass output expectations at a field in Indonesia. Maman Budiman, vice president for public relations and general affairs at ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia, revealed that the energy giant is ready to produce 25,000 barrels of oil per day at the Banyuurip field, local news provider Antara reported. This is 5,000 barrels per day above the figure which the country's government had set as a target. However, regulatory body BP Migas has imposed a daily target of 16,000 barrels in 2010. The field is part of the Cepu block in East Java, which previously produced an average of 1.5 million barrels per day. Earlier this week, Esso fuel card users also discovered that Exxon had secured the deal to develop Iraq's giant West Qurna 1 oil field as part of a joint venture with Anglo-Dutch firm Royal Dutch Shell. Exxon will control 60 per cent of the Iraqi venture. Posted by Matt Haskins
