19 February, 10 Diesel Direct fuel card holders have been left frustrated by the failure for UK pump prices to fall, despite a drop in wholesale cost. According to the AA's monthly fuel price update, average UK diesel prices have actually risen, standing at 113.84p per litre - up from 113.65p per litre when the study was last carried out in mid-January. While drivers with Diesel Direct fuel cards can at least take advantage of savings of between 2 and 3p per litre on these costs, president of the association Edmund King still warned that they are unlikely to be happy with these high costs. "We know from our research that £1.10 a litre is when driver tolerance of higher fuel prices begins to evaporate," he said. And he added that worse is yet to come for Diesel Direct fuel card users, with the AA fearing that the wholesale price drop may only be a temporary measure. These prices are influenced by the global price of oil, which currently stands at nearly $78 (£50.6) per litre. Posted by Tammy Brooks
