20 July, 10 Mycompanyfleet has come up with an idea that could help business fuel card users save even more money on diesel. Andrew Leech, business manager of the firm, believes many drivers do not drive in a fuel-efficient manner, Fleet Directory reports. As a result, companies are being forced to pay more as they have to buy extra quantities of diesel. Mr Leech said that if a driver's fuel usage is monitored, those who waste the most could be named and shamed. "In the current climate no manager is likely to want to be the winner in the fuel cost race," he commented. Mr Leech stated that "tough times sometimes require tough measures", before adding that his idea would give managers more "ammunition" to challenge the behaviour of some drivers. This comes after the Road Haulage Association admitted it is disappointed that chancellor George Osborne will press ahead with fuel tax increases in October and January. Improve the efficiency of your business and your fleet with the business fuel card. Posted by Tammy Brooks
