Fuel card news: Nissan witnesses January sales increase

07 February, 12
Nissan has announced a year-on-year increase in sales for last month.

According to the company's latest figures, the group witnessed a 15 per cent sales rise across its range of models in comparison to January 2011, with European-produced models accounting for 80 per cent of all purchases.

Nissan vice president for sales operations in Europe Guillaume Cartier said: "Nissan is reaping the benefit of putting our customers' desires and expectations ahead of traditional thinking."

He added that the sales drive was supported through the company's efforts to meet the needs of the fleet sector in particular, with the Nissan Juke and Qashqai performing admirably in terms of driving sales forward.

In total, the firm registered 55,098 unit sales during the month, with nearly 20,000 of this figure being accounted for by the Qashqai model.

It is arguably one of the brand's most successful vehicles and offers combined fuel consumption of 45.6 mpg and emissions of just 144 g/km of CO2.
