Vauxhall has unveiled its all-new Vivaro light commercial vehicle (LCV) model at this year’s CV Show in Birmingham.

The new model is taking pride of place at the manufacturer’s exhibition stand, with the event kicking off today (April 30th) and running until Thursday.

Celebrating Luton’s contribution

News of the launch of the new Vivaro has been especially welcomed by Vauxhall workers in Luton, where full production of the model will take place.

Vauxhall Group managing director Stephen Norman commented: “As the UK’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer celebrating its 90th year of van production, we’re proud to present a new Vivaro model that not only has class-leading credentials, but also secures the future of our Luton workforce for many years to come.”

Recent investment in the marque’s Luton manufacturing plant means as many as 100,000 models will roll off the production lines each year. It also means as many as 1,250 jobs have been safeguarded at the site.

The new Vivaro features lower emissions than its predecessor and comes with a range of new features, including the latest safety technologies as standard.

It will be available to order via Vauxhall showrooms from the summer. It will see prices starting from £22,918.33 excluding VAT.

Heather Stark, brand manager at The Fuelcard People, comments: “The new Vivaro is an ideal all-rounder of a van for anyone in need of a reliable, spacious, transport solution. The fact the new model helps to safeguard more than 1,000 jobs in Luton is the icing on the cake.”
