Luxury vehicle manufacturer McLaren is celebrating its 50th anniversary this month and the company is keen to highlight its pedigree in terms of delivering cutting-edge designs and technologies.

Ron Dennis, McLaren group chairman, commented: "Our 50th anniversary provides an opportunity for every single McLaren employee to realise that he or she is an utterly crucial part of an organisation with a history and a culture that really mean something."

As such, the company has held a gala celebration of its accomplishments over the past half century, with current McLaren Formula One team drivers Sergio Perez and 2009 driver's champion Jenson Button in attendance.

The event took place yesterday (September 2nd) evening and provided a chance for the firm to showcase its iconic race cars and most popular models – including Perez turning up to the gala in the 3,000th McLaren 12C to roll off the production line.
