The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) has offered advice to individuals planning to lease a car this summer.
Gerry Keaney, chief executive of the BVRLA, commented: "From the Spanish costas to the leafy lanes of the Lake District, hire cars will play a vital role in helping people to have an enjoyable holiday this summer."
As such, the body has issued a number of tips to would-be renters to help ensure they get the best deal and vehicle they can.
Recommendations from the organisation include steering clear of bogus rental agencies offering unrealistically low prices, as well as paying close attention to paperwork when signing any agreement.
This means examining the small print to understand exactly what is and what is not covered under the rental plan, while also paying close attention to the terms and conditions. For example, some companies will charge additional fees if the renter cannot return the vehicle to the same branch.
