Brake is holding a seminar in Birmingham later this month that will attempt to educate young people on the importance of road safety.

Its 2young2die training course is being held on January 29th at a number of venues across the city, with the innovative workshops open to individuals aged from 11 to 25, where they will be shown the importance of cutting their speed, avoiding intoxicating substances and wearing safety belts.

Roz Cumming, professional engagement manager at Brake, said: "More young people die in road crashes than from any other cause, so it is vital that we reach young people whether or not they are drivers themselves, before it's too late."

Earlier this month, Brake deputy chief executive Julie Townsend called on UK motorists to have their wits about them now the temperatures across the country have plummeted, as the likelihood of ice and snow on the roads could lead to more accidents.
