The Ford Ranger has continued its impressive year, being named Pick-Up of the Year 2013 by 4×4 Magazine.

Citing a 25 per cent growth in the UK's pick-up market since 2009, the publication highlighted the growing importance of this sector among consumers.

With this in mind, the readership of the magazine named the Ranger as its choice for Pick-up of the Year from a shortlist of seven due to its excellent ride quality, spacious and luxurious interior, and extensive specification list which comes as standard.

"Our extensive test showed the variety of products that are now on the UK market and the Ranger topped them all with better overall ability," commented Nigel Fryatt, 4×4 Magazine editor.

He added that no other pick-up came close to the Ranger this year.

Earlier this month, the Ranger also picked up the dual accolade of being named Pick-up of the Year and Commercial Vehicle of the Year at the 2012 Fleet Van Awards.
