Toyota has appointed BCA as its official de-fleet partner in the UK, with the agreement to come into force from January 1st next year.
Covering both the Toyota and Lexus brands, the new deal will place BCA in charge of the vehicle manufacturer's inspection and collection, de-fleet, storage, refurbishment, inventory management and remarketing responsibilities.
BCA spokesman Jonathan Higham commented: "BCA are delighted to have won this tender to deliver across the board vehicle de-fleet and remarketing services to Toyota and Lexus in the face of some very stiff competition."
He added that BCA's strategy will be driven by generating greater engagement in the UK for the Toyota and Lexus marques, ultimately delivering increased value for businesses and consumers.
The news follows recent comments from Hamish Stone, head of marketing at Gumtree, who last month argued that the UK's used car market continues to gain momentum as buyers move away from purchasing new vehicles as a result of the ongoing difficult economic climate.
