Individuals keen to purchase a new or used car in the UK have a plethora of resources available to them, it has been claimed.

Maria McCarthy, motoring journalist and the author of The Girls' Car Handbook, said with increasing demands on people's time in the modern world it can be difficult to know where to begin when buying a new car.

Fortunately, the internet has opened up an array of possibilities for searching for the best deals, ranging from online reviews of models to comparison sites to highlight some of the top deals at the moment.

She commented: "There is so much information regularly available online, you can just put anything into the search engine and all of these reviews just come up which tell you whether the car has weathered the test of time."

According to the September data from BCA Pulse, used car values rose in the UK by 2.5 per cent to £6,315 on average during the month.
