Vehicle manufacturer Ford has witnessed a significant rise in its fleet sales this year following the expansion of its fleet offering, it has been revealed.

According to the latest data from the company, fleet sales for the first seven months of the year totalled 95,752 cars and 32,654 vans, marking an overall 62 per cent rise in sales for the firm in comparison to the same period last year.

"The combination of Ford's best ever vehicle range, latest fuel-efficient diesel and EcoBoost petrol engines … has seen Ford's fleet business go from strength to strength," commented Kevin Griffin, Ford of Britain fleet director.

Earlier this month, the company revealed it has maintained its position as the top-selling vehicle manufacturer in the UK with the largest slice of the country's automotive sector.

Data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders revealed the firm sold 143,884 units during the first six months of 2012 – a rise of 9.3 per cent on the same period in 2011.
