Car owners across the UK have been advised of the multitude of tasks they should be carrying out in order to get their vehicles in top condition for the summer – if it ever arrives.
According to GEM Motoring Assist, any dents or bumps should be removed from bodywork with gentle buffing, while vehicles should be polished and paintwork touched up to ensure they look the part.
Furthermore, wing and rear mirrors should be cleaned to provide proper visibility for the driver, while also ensuring emergency essentials are packed in the car, such as a torch, high visibility jacket, water and sunglasses.
David Williams, chief executive officer of GEM Motoring Assist, commented: "It is imperative that drivers look after their cars this summer to ensure they run smoothly throughout the holiday season."
He added that we all want our holidays to be memorable for the right reasons and a breakdown is not one of them.
Meanwhile, road safety charity TyreSafe has urged car owners to check the state of their tyres before embarking on any journeys this year, with tyre tread depth one of the key areas to check.
