Vehicle manufacturer Nissan has reported a record performance for sales of its models in 2013.
The company boosted its market share in the UK to 5.6 per cent over the last 12 months, placing the company as the country's sixth most popular manufacturer.
Overall, the firm recorded an annual 11.2 per cent rise in vehicle registrations in the UK to 118,061 cars in 2013, while the firm's Sunderland production plant exceeded its quota of delivering half a million vehicles over the 12 months for the second year in a row.
Jim Wright, managing director at Nissan GB, commented: "To break the 500,000 production barrier for a second year is incredible, especially as the plant has been busy integrating new facilities for the new Note and Leaf."
The standout performers in the company's model range for the year were the Qashqai and Juke, selling 50,211 and 37,488 units respectively in 2013.
