A new survey conducted by We Love Any Car has shed light on the factors that help make UK drivers happy.
According to the results, which gathered the opinions of 650,000 motorists, the happiest drivers in the country are most likely to drive a Skoda in Teal Blue or Yellow.
The survey did not go into the specific models that the most content owners commonly drive, but did provide some rather more interesting – and debatably abstract – trends.
Looking into the geographical areas where the happiest drivers hit the road, the Dumfries and Galloway region of Scotland came out on top.
However, at the other end of the scale, residents of Rochester in Kent and Newcastle-upon-Tyne declared themselves most dissatisfied with motoring in their hometown.
Meanwhile, simply assessing respondents' contact information revealed that the names of the drivers most pleased with their automotive experience were likely to be Daniel or Wendy.
Some of these trends may seem relatively inconsequential upon first glance. Representatives from We Love Any Car have attempted to give an insight as to why this holistic view of motorists' level of happiness can help draw important conclusions.
A spokesman explained: "Unlike other car awards, our data gives us the ability to find out why drivers are truly happy or unhappy – taking into account not just the make and model of car they own but also who they are, where they are and why they’re happy or unhappy with their vehicle."
The analyst went on to say that this should be seen as "priceless information", adding that anyone considering buying a new car – or indeed relocating with their existing one – would find the study extremely useful.
On the firm's website, visitors can look over the overall reviews that formed the results of the survey, giving them a "real life" insight into what it is actually like to drive a particular car given their personal demographic – a facility that it claims few other providers are able to offer.
