santaFleet managers should not include cost savings when writing out their Christmas lists, according to The Fuelcard People. Steve Clarke, head of marketing for The Fuel Card Group, said, “Santa and the elves are far too busy working on making dreams come true for the world’s children. Fleet managers really should not be asking Father Christmas for something that they could get for themselves with a single telephone call.”

He added that, more importantly, nobody needs to wait until December 25th for cost savings. “Any fleet manager should be looking for a regular reduction in fuel costs of up to 4p per litre that starts immediately, not on Boxing Day,” he said. “If they call us now, we can compare the whole market in seconds to find the best fit for their particular needs. Within days, their drivers could be carrying the right fuel cards and refuelling at lower prices nationwide.”

Asked whether fleet managers are really likely to have fuel cost savings on their Christmas lists, Steve Clarke said, “Who knows? There will not be anything in their stockings from the Scrooge of the Exchequer, so you can hardly blame them for looking elsewhere.”

There is no mention of refuelling sleighs on The Fuelcard People’s web site, but Steve Clarke quickly dismissed this. “Whatever your vehicle, if you spend £500 or more monthly on diesel, petrol or both, we can help to reduce your costs. Does that include sleighs? No, because everybody knows that such vehicles are reindeer-powered, so that is a silly question. Merry Christmas, everybody!”
