The Volkswagen Caddy has been named this year's Small Van of the Year at the annual Association of Car Fleet Operators (ACFO) awards.

Voted for by ACFO members, the Caddy was honoured for its excellent range of body styles, trim options, different powertrains and general level of customisation, ensuring that buyers are able to choose a vehicle that is tailored to suit their needs and budget.

The vehicle is available on the road from £14,075 (excluding VAT) and its affordable price tag means companies across the country have embraced it to bolster their fleets over recent months.

In addition, with eight standard setups to choose from and dozens of features and configurations to explore, the model really offers a flexible design for commercial operators of all sizes and from all backgrounds.

Chris Black, head of fleet at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said: "We're delighted to win this award, especially as this accolade is voted for by fleet decision-makers.

"Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles continues to go from strength to strength with high-quality products and a specialist Van Centre network that provides expert knowledge, sales expertise and technicians that deliver high standards of customer care."

He added that the company continues to appreciate the high regard in which the Caddy is held, with this latest accolade being the model's tenth award of the year to date.

Established more than 40 years ago, ACFO is the UK's premier representative organisation for fleet and light commercial vehicle operators.

As such, each year, its awards stand out as a mark of excellence for their recipients, with every honour chosen by the industry in which these vehicles operate on a daily basis.

Other winners of honours in 2014 include the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), which was voted Fleet Service Company of the Year, as well as the Ford Transit that won the Large Van of the Year title.
