BP Plus cards are now being accepted at more than 3,000 sites after BP struck a reciprocal acceptance agreement with Esso.
In turn, this means that more than 630 UK-based Esso forecourts also accept the BP Plus Fuel Card, and that number will only increase with more sites coming on board soon.
The deal means that drivers can now fill up at all Esso stations displaying the new BP acceptance logo, FleetNews.co.uk reports. Additionally, the cards are also accepted at Texaco and Gulf sites.
Andy Allen, UK fuel card manager at BP Fuel Cards, said the firm was committed to expanding its offer to support the needs of its fleet customers.
“This collaboration with the Esso network of sites enables us to build on our offer to BP Plus fleet customers, giving drivers even more choice and availability when travelling throughout the UK,” he commented.
The BP-branded network is made up of 1,280 sites, with 900 on UK A-roads, 700 24-hour sites and 70 sites at motorway service stations.
BP has more than 600 bunker sites which feature high speed pumps, wide lanes and extra high canopies. Most are on motorways and ‘A’ roads, cutting the need for detours.

Ben Robb, brand manager at The Fuelcard People, adds: “This agreement between BP and Esso presents company car drivers with a wider choice when it comes to where they can fill up.”
