US automotive giant Ford has announced a set of extremely positive results for February, with the firm's sales growth increasing across all sectors.
The company reported a considerable lift in sales last month across the UK, with a total of 11,513 vehicles sold – representing an annual upturn in performance of 8.4 per cent.
What's more, the firm recorded a major uplift in market share during the course of the last 12 months, with Ford now holding a 16.1 per cent market share across the UK (up from 14.5 per cent in February 2015).
As a result, Ford remains the UK's top choice when it comes to new vehicle purchases, with the manufacturer garnering in excess of 3,000 sales more than its closest rivals in February alone.
Andy Barratt, Ford of Britain chairman and managing director, said: "Ford's strong sales start to 2016 has resulted in our highest February total vehicle sales since 2007.
"This is the result of our continued investment in exciting products and industry-leading technologies that has provided the foundation for our 'Unlearn' marketing campaign that challenges consumers to take a fresh look at the brand, using the Mustang, Edge and GT as prime examples of bold and surprising new models."
Indeed, the strength in depth of the manufacturer's vehicle range means the company holds a special place in the hearts of UK buyers, with many of the company's models standing atop or close to the top of their individual market segments.
Standout performers for the firm so far this year include the Fiesta, Focus, Galaxy and C-Max.
