The Fuelcard People was pleased to attend this year's annual NFU Conference, entitled Backing British Farming in a Volatile World.

Held at the ICC Birmingham on February 24th and 25th, the event aimed to highlight the plight of the modern day British farmer and The Fuelcard People was there to highlight the many benefits to attendees of the use of fuel cards to bring down their overall costs.

Tim Betts, account manager for NFU Fuel Card at the Fuelcard People, said: "The NFU were very pleased that we attended.

"We … got to meet nearly all the service advisors that take the calls from the members and put them through to us, which was useful so they found out more about what we do."

All those signing up for the NFU Fuel Card can make a typical saving of up to 5p per litre against average national pump prices when filling up their vehicles, meaning doing so could help many beleaguered farmers make considerable savings in the future.

More than 55,000 NFU members now have access to fuel card services following the launch of the new partnership between the two organisations, with discounts available to fuel card holders across the length and breadth of the UK.

Lower costs, no need for paperwork and less time spent searching for the best deals means farmers are saving both time and money when signing up.

Announcing the new partnership last month, The Fuelcard People marketing manager Steve Clarke assured all those planning to make use of this new money-saving resource that they will not face transaction charges, network fees or other surcharges when purchasing their fuel.

Ben Coates, NFU affinities and services manager, concluded: "Now, NFU members do not have to hunt around for the best refuelling deal, because they already have it."
