Ferrari's 458 Spider has been named Best Imported Cabriolet in the annual Best Cars poll by German motoring publication Auto Motor und Sport.

The 4.5-litre V8 convertible was chosen due to its beautiful styling, stunning performance and innovation – being the first mid-engined model to feature a folding hard-top.

Auto Motor und Sport editor-in-chief Ralph Alex presented the award to Ferrari chief executive Amedeo Felisa at a prize-giving ceremony held in Stuttgart yesterday (January 24th).

To date, the 458 has achieved more than 50 accolades around the world, highlighting the model's ongoing popularity among both buyers and industry experts.

Last month, Ferrari provided its first teaser for the successor to the iconic Enzo, with images of a new car released to the public outlining its low roof line, bubble cockpit and hunched rear.

Rumours of a new Ferrari have been circulating for some time, with the marque believed to be toying with the names F70, new Enzo and F150.
