Parents across the UK have been offered advice by chief instructor at the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) Peter Rodger on how to avoid distractions from their offspring when out on the roads.
He said: "Kids can be noisy, disruptive and distracting, especially if they get bored. The trick is to keep them occupied as much as possible and to keep your attention on the road."
As a result, drivers are urged to be well organised when taking a trip with the family, ensuring they pack plenty of food and drink, as well as entertainment to keep children engaged for the duration of the journey.
Meanwhile, Mr Rodger also recently urged motorists to be more fuel efficient by following some simple tips.
He argued that keeping to the speed limit is a great way to save on fuel, while excessive braking should also be avoided, as this too can result in higher consumption.
