Vehicle manufacturer BMW has announced it saw its best November performance on record last month.

The company revealed record monthly sales of 174,996 models across its Mini, BMW and Rolls-Royce marques for the month – 2.7 per cent higher than at the same time last year.

Furthermore, this growth in sales has helped the firm achieve a 6.8 per cent increase in total registrations of its models for the year to date – January to the end of November – at more than 1.77 million vehicles.

Ian Robertson, member of the board of management at BMW responsible for sales and marketing, commented: "Although conditions remain challenging in a number of European markets, in particular, we expect sales to continue to develop positively over the coming months."

He added the target of achieving record sales for the whole of 2013 is now within reach for the company, with the firm on track to achieve its aim of becoming the number one manufacturer of premium vehicles across the globe.
