Upgrades to the A45 in the vicinity of Birmingham International Airport are being carried out next month, which will improve transport links to the travel hub.
Getting underway on August 2nd and running to the 12th, the project will see the expansion of the carriageway to deliver two lanes in each direction.
Highways Agency representative Frank Bird said a contraflow system is to be installed for the duration of the works, with lane restrictions allowing agency staff to carry out essential tie-in works for water and electricity services in the area.
"We are therefore advising drivers to check local conditions and allow extra time for their journeys during this period, particularly if you are going to the NEC or Birmingham International Airport," he added.
Once complete, the newly expanded carriageway will be of benefit to fleet managers and business users heading to and from the airport, while a dedicated public transport corridor is also being introduced.
