BMW has announced a "strong" set of results for its performance during the second quarter of 2013.
The firm reported a 1.8 per cent increase in group revenues to €19.55 billion (£17 billion) in comparison to the same period last year, while profits before taxes improved by 2.8 per cent to €2.03 billion.
Automotive segment revenues rose by 4.8 per cent during the second quarter to make up the bulk of group business activity at €18.2 billion.
Chairman of the board of management Norbert Reithofer commented: "The BMW Group achieved a strong second quarter performance despite the headwinds on many automobile markets in Europe."
Looking forward, the company is hoping to boost these figures further during the second half of the year, especially as it prepares to launch a number of new models, including the BMW 4 Series Coupe, the new X5 and the innovative BMW i3 electric vehicle.
