Road safety charity Brake has announced it is to hold its annual fleet safety awards again in 2013.

Set to take place in Birmingham in June next year, the deadline for entries will be February 15th and the organisation is set to honour fleet providers in a range of categories, including the use of technology to boost safety, effective partnerships, community engagement and safe vehicle practices.

In addition, keynote speakers at the gala evening are set to include reader in driver behaviour and director of the driving research group at Cranfield University Dr Lisa Dorn and Rory Morgan, national logistics general manager at Iron Mountain.

"I'd urge anyone with an interest in fleet safety to attend to hear first-hand about those at the forefront of the field," commented Roslyn Cumming, professional engagement manager at Brake.

Last month, Ms Cumming argued that Brake's Fleet Safety Forum is to take place in November and will allow industry experts to offer their advice to fleet operators across the UK on methods for improving the awareness of their young drivers – one of the biggest issues facing fleet safety at present.
