Luxury vehicle manufacturer Aston Martin is this year celebrating its centenary and the marque is putting on a number of celebrations and special events to mark the milestone.

"Ours is the coolest luxury car brand on the planet and I am looking forward to our second century of building the world's most desirable sports cars," commented Aston Martin chief executive officer Dr Ulrich Bez.

He added that the firm is especially pleased to be highlighting the best of British craftsmanship that has ensured the company has maintained its position at the top of its field over the last century.

Events that will be kicking off this month to celebrate the occasion include the Aston Martin Heritage Trust Walter Hayes Memorial Lecture that will be held in London on January 15th.

In addition, the brand will be holding a showcase of its models throughout its 100-year history from July 15th to 21st at the firm's exclusive Gaydon headquarters.
