Vehicle manufacturer Chevrolet has become the first winner at the inaugural Green Apple Awards 2012 for the Built Environment and Architectural Heritage.
The company was named the 2012 Green Car Manufacturer: Gold Winner as a result of its commitment to environmentally-friendly motoring both in the UK and overseas.
"As well as the overall manufacturer award, we were also lucky enough to win two further categories thanks to the support of the Midland Group of Motoring Writers," commented Chevrolet UK managing director Mark Terry.
He added that overall, it was an extremely successful day for the brand and the team at Chevrolet would like to express their thanks to all those involved in the green organisation.
Earlier this week, Next Green Car praised the Vauxhall Ampera – known as the Chevrolet Volt in the US – for its excellent green credentials, with the vehicle being named among a shortlist of 26 models for the Next Green Car Awards 2012.
