Fleet managers across the UK may be interested to learn the Mazda CX-5 has been awarded a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP.
The model scored excellent marks for adult occupant safety (94 per cent), child occupant safety (87 per cent) and its safety assist systems (86 per cent).
Following the Mazda3 and Mazda6, the CX-5 has become the third vehicle from the manufacturer to be awarded a five-star safety rating since the introduction of Euro NCAP's new scoring system in 2009.
Meanwhile, the Hyundai new generation i30 was awarded a five-star rating earlier this month, with the vehicle coming top in the child occupant safety category with a score of 90 per cent.
Allan Rushforth, senior vice president and chief operations officer of Hyundai Motor Europe, commented at the time: "The five-star rating for new generation i30 further demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest levels of safety for Hyundai customers."
