The Ford Focus has been named the world's most popular vehicle for the first half of 2013 – holding on to top spot after receiving the same award for the whole of 2012.
Furthermore, the vehicle manufacturer was the only marque to achieve the honour of having two vehicles in the top five most popular models for the first six months of this year – the Fiesta also ranked fourth for overall registrations during the period.
Indeed, while the Focus has been named the biggest seller in the latest round of assessment by Polk – up 20 per cent in the last 12 months to 589,709 vehicle registrations – the Fiesta remains the UK's favourite model.
Jim Farley, Ford executive vice president for global marketing, sales and service, commented: "This is Ford's 'One Ford' global strategy at its best: Great-looking vehicles with leading fuel economy, leading quality, technology and fun-to-drive personalities."
