Vehicle manufacturer Ford has announced positive sales figures for February 2012, with the company increasing its UK market share for the second month in a row.
Ford announced it now has a 14.5 per cent share of the UK vehicle sector – up by 2.6 percentage points over January – and delivered sales of 8,957 units in February, up by 18.8 per cent from the same month last year.
Mark Ovenden, Ford of Britain managing director, said: "Ford's car range has started 2012 with a terrific performance that extends our UK lead in total car sales, and provides a good indicator for March."
The news follows the publication of positive sales figures during the month for rival manufacturer Subaru.
During February, the company witnessed an 86.6 per cent sales rise – putting a high proportion of this increase down to the release of the firm's new Subaru XV model in the UK.
