The school holidays are just around the corner and many Britons will soon be heading off to different parts of the UK with their caravans in tow.
Bosses at GEM Motoring Assist have issued a number of "summer driving tips" so motorists remain safe when out on the roads.
A lot of people will not have been anywhere near their caravan for the best part of a year, so it is vital that drivers give it a thorough examination before they attach it to the back of their car.
It is also worth checking the suitability of tyres and brakes, as the extra weight added by a caravan can have an impact on stopping distances.
While it is true that driving conditions are far better in the warmer months, GEM Motoring Assist's chief executive officer David Williams said that travelling can often be a "fraught experience", especially when the roads are full of holidaymakers.
"We want to help make this period as manageable and as safe as possible with useful advice and checklists for motorists," he remarked.
