Hyundai has announced its continued expansion during the first quarter of the year, with the firm's European market share rising to 3.5 per cent – up from 3.4 per cent in the preceding quarter.
According to the organisation's latest data, whole industry volume for the three months fell by almost ten per cent and it is therefore extremely positive news that the firm was able to boost its own performance.
Allan Rushforth, senior vice president and chief operating officer at Hyundai Motor Europe, commented: "We anticipate this trend will continue through the second quarter, before an improvement in consumer confidence helps to push up sales in the second half of 2013."
He added that market share will likely fluctuate month-to-month, but hopes to end the year in a similar position to now.
Earlier this month, luxury vehicle manufacturer Bentley also announced positive results for its first three months of trading in 2013. The company revealed a 25.72 per cent annual rise in deliveries in comparison to the same time last year.
