The future of the retail motor industry is bright as new sales transactions will be boosted by consumer confidence.
This is according to Steve Nash, chief executive officer of the Institute of Motor Industry (IMI), who said a lot of newly-qualified drivers will be looking for vehicles and work in September and so now is the time to put together appealing offers.
Once the 63-plate registrations hit the road, Mr Nash expects a "bumper" sales period and he hopes organisations are well placed to offer an "excellent after-sales experience" in order to capitalise on this demand.
The expert would like to see a greater commitment to apprenticeships and training, as he thinks this will help companies deliver a better service in the long term.
When it comes to recruitment, Mr Nash added the "market for the best talent is still highly competitive" and so companies need to make sure they are viewed as a desirable employer.
