Vehicle manufacturer Mazda is expecting to witness an upturn in customer loyalty in 2014 following the launch of the marque's new Mazda3 model in January.

Aftersales director at the company David Wilson-Green commented: "We have enviable overall average service loyalty levels of almost 55 per cent, this is measured over ten services and has been going up."

He added that by 2015 the proportion of Mazda vehicles that will be less than five years old will be at its lowest level ever – with just 180,000 cars in this category.

As a result, the firm aims to focus on improving its servicing for second and even third owners, ensuring individuals who purchase a Mazda are able to receive the best-quality servicing and maintenance that will keep them purchasing the company's models throughout their life.

Overall, Mazda sold 30,000 vehicles across the UK in 2013 – 16 per cent up on the previous year – highlighting a growing appreciation for the marque by UK buyers.
