Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has reported a considerable annual upturn in sales for February 2013.
According to the firm's latest results, last month witnessed a 27 per cent year-on-year increase in vehicle sales for the Jaguar brand, while sales of Land Rover and Freelander models were also up by 26 per cent.
Overall, the company reported an 18 per cent increase in the number of sales in the year to date to 61,732 vehicles in comparison to 2012.
"JLR's sales momentum continues with strong sales performance in February across most major markets. In China, our sales were influenced by the New Year celebrations," commented Phil Popham, company director of group sales operations.
Earlier this month, executive director at JLR Mark Wright argued in favour of additional government investment in developing skills for the UK automotive trade.
He told attendees of the BIS Manufacturing Summit that a focus on research & development, as well as improved supply chains management, will provide a considerable boost to the UK's car manufacturers in the coming years.
