Vehicle manufacturer Kia has announced the launch of its new luxury saloon model, the K9.

It will be the first time the company has offered a vehicle for the luxury automotive sector, with the rear-wheel drive fleet option set to be available from the fourth quarter of 2012.

"K9 is a clear signal of our intention and determination to compete head-to-head with the European luxury brands," commented chief design officer at Kia Peter Schreyer.

It is set to offer a range of luxury features to owners, including full-adaptive LED headlamps, radar-based blind spot detection, smart cruise control, a lane departure warning system and shift-by-wire technology to allow for smoother gear changes and more responsive performance.

Mr Schreyer added the new K9 also benefits from a sporty and dynamic chassis, ensuring the vehicle offers sleek and elegant aesthetics for those keen on adding the model to their fleet offerings in the future.
