Land Rover has been named this year's Car Maker of the Year at the annual Motor Trader Awards in London, which took place last night (July 11th).
The firm was praised for developing an array of new models that meet customer requirements in terms of style, practicality and improved environmental performance, while also remaining faithful to the ideals of manufacturing excellence and innovation.
Curtis Hutchison, editor of Motor Trader, said: "Land Rover is a brand on the move. Sales have been rising in a tough market since 2010, thanks to a range of compelling vehicles and the addition of the hugely popular Evoque."
Meanwhile, Land Rover's UK marketing director Laura Schwab added the award represents not only recognition for the firm's achievements in vehicle development, but also in building a sound and profitable commercial platform.
The company is based in Gaydon, Warwickshire and forms part of the Jaguar Land Rover Group.
