Effectively monitoring the mental health of staff should be a key responsibility of fleet managers up and down the UK, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has claimed.
The organisation is now set to spread this message to fleet professionals at this year's annual Scotland Occupational Health and Safety Conference.
It will be taking place on September 19th at the Hilton Glasgow Hotel and will see a range of key issues that impact the fleet sector being discussed.
Karen McDonnell, head of RoSPA Scotland, said: "Mental health is something that can often be swept under the carpet, but it will be firmly under the spotlight at this year's RoSPA Scotland Congress."
She added one in four people will suffer some form of mental health issue in their lives and therefore having the skills and understanding in place within businesses to provide the best level of support to these individuals is essential.
