A first glimpse of the designs for the next generation of Golf from vehicle manufacturer Volkswagen (VW) have been released for attendees of this year's Frankfurt Motor Show, which will be getting underway tomorrow (September 10th).

The Golf Sportsvan is to be successor to the Golf Plus and is based on the multi-award-winning Golf hatchback.

It promises to build on the brand's long history of delivering excellent reliability, coupled with design flair, style and performance for buyers, with the Sportsvan also offering improved versatility and space than previous Golf models.

Moreover, VW remains committed to offering the best safety features on the market and the Sportsvan is no different, with adaptive cruise control, as well as the marque's Front Assist and City Emergency Braking systems as standard.

Set to go on sale in the UK by mid-2014, the model will have the look of the classic Golf brand, but with a more utilitarian ethos driving the new Sportsvan.
