Skoda has announced it is continuing to demonstrate excellent fundamentals as it looks to build on positive growth during 2012.
The vehicle manufacturer reported record deliveries last year of 939,200 vehicles – up by 6.8 per cent on 2011. This upturn in demand also resulted in sales revenue growth of 1.7 per cent to €10.4 billion (£8.8 billion).
Dr Winfried Vahland, Skoda's chairman of the board of management, commented: "We have achieved a new record for the sales and turnover, expanded our model range and further strengthened our position in the international automobile markets."
He added that the firm is now looking forward to delivering further positive results for the coming year.
The news follows a recent strong performance for Jaguar Land Rover, with the company revealing a considerable annual upturn in sales for February 2013.
According to the firm's data, February saw an annual 27 per cent increase in vehicle sales for the Jaguar brand, while Land Rover and Freelander sales grew by 26 per cent.
