October was another record month for German vehicle manufacturer Mercedes-Benz, with the company reporting massive increases in registrations in comparison to the same month last year.
The firm revealed a 27.2 per cent upturn in private purchases and saw its fleet business grow by 10.7 per cent at the same time, with a record 6,463 cars registered in October.
Marcus Breitschwerdt, president and chief executive officer of Mercedes-Benz UK, commented: "Our October performance has been really encouraging. B-Class and C-Class continue to break records and we are heading for one of our best years ever for AMG."
The AMG brand has witnessed extremely strong uptake in the year so far, delivering a 144 per cent increase in registrations from 2011.
Last month, the manufacturer received a boost through the publication of noise tests carried out by the consumer watchdog Which?.
The Mercedes S350 CDI and Lexus LS 600h L came in joint top in the luxury car segment, with ambient noise levels of just 63.3 decibels.
