Car manufacturer Renault has announced the pricing and specification for its new Megane Renaultsport 265 model.

A company statement read: "Megane Renaultsport is powering on from the success of the multi award-winning 250 range with a new and improved model for 2012."

The new 265 is set to come to showrooms across the UK in April and is set to offer improved performance to fleet managers, with an increased top speed of 158 mph and acceleration of zero to 62 mph in six seconds exactly – an improvement from the 6.1 seconds of the car's previous incarnation.

It is set to be available on the road from £24,825 and buyers will be able to enjoy a new styling option of Arctic White for the chassis.

Last week, the company announced positive full-year results for 2011, with a 9.4 per cent rise in revenues to €42.628 billion (£27.075 billion).

Furthermore, the company's operating margins improved by 2.6 per cent of revenues to €1.091 billion.
