This will help drivers to avoid the difficult situation where their annual MOT is due but they have no-one to carry it out, leading to the problem of the vehicle being unable to be taxed as it does not hold a valid MOT.

Research from Protyre reveals some of the most common causes of MOT failure include lighting, brakes and tyres. It is therefore imperative individuals have their vehicles regularly checked by professionals to ensure these areas are in good working order.

Drivers should also carry out inspections of their vehicle before embarking on journeys.
