A date has been set for the fifth annual Speed Congress – an important event that attracts technology experts and leading figures from the road transport industry.
The gathering will be held in London on May 7th 2014 and two speakers have already been lined up. They include Dutch road safety expert Henk Stipdonk and Professor John Parkin of London South Bank University.
Road safety charity Brake will organise the event and sponsorship has been secured from Siemens.
Visitors will get to see new innovations, policies and research relating to speed limits and how vulnerable road users can be better protected.
This is a particularly timely announcement, as the Institute of Advanced Motorists has this week (June 18th) called for vehicle manufacturers to redesign their cars in order to minimise the impact of collisions with pedestrians.
Ellie Pearson, senior professional engagement officer at Brake, said the annual Speed Congress is a "highly prestigious event".
"The last congress was well-supported, and provided an excellent networking opportunity to attendees. The 2014 event promises to be just as rewarding," she remarked.
