The UK automotive sector has been forecast to deliver strong levels of growth over the coming year.
Industry bosses made their predictions for 2014 in an interview with Car Dealer Magazine, with an overwhelming consensus that burgeoning economic growth in the UK will translate into increased prosperity for the motoring sector in the months ahead.
Trevor Finn, chief executive of car dealer group Pendragon, stated: "While the southern European markets remain under pressure, the UK will take some of that capacity and the cars will find a way into the market."
Meanwhile, Jon Wellsman, aftersales director for Ford, predicted growing consumer confidence will translate into increased vehicle sales as the year progresses, with many buyers who put off making purchases in recent months more likely to do so in 2014.
Ken Ramirez, managing director of Renault Group UK, concluded the UK automotive market could grow by as much as ten per cent in the next 12 months.
