Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) has announced the significant milestone of achieving the production of its 200 millionth vehicle.
Global cumulative sales for the company reached the magic number in June, with the firm achieving this significant figure in 76 years and 11 months of operation.
The vast majority of sales for the car manufacturer took place in Japan itself (145.21 million), with 55.12 million sales registered in the rest of the world.
TMC president Akio Toyoda said: "I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation to our customers the world over who made it possible for us to reach this milestone."
He added that he also has the "most profound respect and gratitude" to all those involved in the development, manufacturing and marketing of Toyota and Lexus vehicles over the years.
Meanwhile, Toyota Motor Europe announced earlier this month that the firm has signed a new agreement with PSA Peugeot Citroen for collaborative efforts in the development of a new light commercial vehicle.
