The Nissan NV200 has been named the best small trades van 2012 at Trade Van Driver's annual awards.

Matt Eisenegger, editor of Trade Van Driver, noted the NV200 offers an excellent use of space and large cargo capacity for trade users – 4.2 cubic metres – and it is therefore little wonder that the model has become one of the most popular trade vehicles on the market at present.

He added that the van's small footprint also makes it ideal for city use.

James Douglas, corporate sales director at Nissan Motor (GB), commented: "The NV200 has been designed as the most versatile compact van … [and] we are delighted to receive this award from Trade Van Driver."

Last month, the company celebrated two awards for its Qashqai and Juke models.

The Qashqai was named Fleet News's best crossover, while the Juke picked up the same title at the Parkers New Car Awards.
