The UK's used car sector continues to thrive despite a significant upturn in demand for new vehicle registrations, latest figures have revealed.
According to the latest data from CAP Automotive as part of its Black Book Live offering, trade values dipped by 1.6 per cent in July, but the valuation specialist claimed this is a typical seasonal decline for this time of year.
It comes at a time when new car registrations have grown by an impressive 13 per cent, highlighting the ongoing resilience of the UK used car sector in the face of significantly increased competition over recent months.
Indeed, the new car segment has now witnessed 16 consecutive months of growth, but this has had little relatively impact on the used car industry in general.
Black Book Live senior editor Derren Martin commented: "The holiday season, together with the preparations for the '63' plate introduction, points toward August being a quiet but orderly market."
