The average cost of a used van in the UK rose by one per cent in April, figures from BCA Commercial have shown.
According to the company's latest Commercial Pulse data, values grew by £44 on average to £4,271 last month.
Duncan Ward, BCA's general manager for commercial vehicles, commented: "Fleet values dipped in February but have risen since then – April values were identical to those recorded in January and are the highest in two years."
He added that this is despite the average age and mileage of used vans rising during the first four months of 2012.
The news follows the publication of figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, which showed a 13.7 per cent decline in the number of new van and truck registrations in the UK for April.
However, the total number of registrations for the year to date remained positive – up by 4.1 per cent on the same time in 2011 at 292,352.
